Skiing in the Skiarea Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta, the largest ski area in Trentino, with a seasonality that ranges from mid-November to mid-April, plunged in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites, UNESCO World Heritage Site, gives an unique, incredible emotion: 150 km of slopes connected with ‘skis to the feet' among Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo, Folgarida and Marilleva.
With one ski pass, 100 slopes, 95% of which equipped with programmed snowing, supplied by 60 modern ski lifts with a hourly rate of 90,000 people, 4 snow parks, and altitude from 850 to 2500m above sea level, the Skiarea Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta is one of the most impressive and renown destinations in the Alps. Those who love skiing and snowboarding will find a wide choice of trails, from school camps to the soft blue ski runs to the black ones with a maximum slope higher than 70%. Not to miss the Canalone Miramonti, the track of the Men’s Slalom in the world championship to try also at night for a new emotion.
Madonna di Campiglio and Pinzolo are the ideal place for the enthusiasts of entertainment on the snow, not just Alpine skiing and snowboarding. In the Rendena Valley there are two tracks for cross country skiing: the 2,2 km of the track of Campo Carlo Magno and 5 km of the track of Carisolo, to ski immersed in the amazing landscape of the woods of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park.
The Rendena Valley and its wonderful itineraries, from the Cima Presanella to Mount Ritòrt through the solitary Gelada Valley, are the ideal place where to devote yourself also to ski mountaineering accompanied by skilled Alpine guides. Those who don’t want to do without climbing neither in winter can try to climb on ice cascades, the winter alternative to rock climbing, with many possible excursions in the Brenta, Vallesinella, Nardis and Lares Valley.
The less adventurous of you can devote themselves to simple walks in the woods or follow one of the many snowshoe trails, hiking in the snow with independent or organized excursions plunged in the amazing landscapes of the Adamello Brenta Park, that covering more than 620 sq km is the largest protected area of Trentino.
If you want something different you can try sleddog, to live the emotion of a funny ride in a sled pulled by dogs. Through the Athabaska sleddog school, at the Piana di Nambino, in Madonna di Campiglio, in winter it’s possible to take part to daily excursions with husky dogs.
During the winter season in the Rendena Valley it’s also possible to practice ice-skating: indoors, at the Ice Stadium of Pinzolo, or outdoors at the small lakes of the Conca Verde in Madonna di Campiglio. Not to miss the Fevri toboggan run, suitable for everyone, with departure from the Mount Spinale, 3km of pure fan in complete safety, for the joy of adults and children.
